How do I know which service is the right starting point?
The best starting point depends on what the family finds most pressing. If staying informed from a distance is the main concern, the Regular Check-in service often suits well. If your older relative would value regular company during the week, Companionship Visit Coordination is worth a closer look. Families who are taking on more of the day-to-day coordination themselves often find the Caregiver Guidance Workshop particularly useful. We are happy to talk through your situation before you make any decision.
How quickly can we get started?
After an initial conversation and a short introductory meeting with the family, most arrangements can begin within one to two weeks. The companion matching and scheduling steps are done before any first visit, so there are no surprises for your older relative on the day.
Can the visit schedule be adjusted after we start?
Yes. Life rarely stays exactly the same, and schedules can be adjusted with reasonable notice. We ask families to let us know at least a few days ahead of any change where possible, and we will do our best to accommodate it.
What does a typical companionship visit look like?
Visits are relaxed and shaped around the older adult's own preferences. They might involve conversation over tea, reading together, a gentle walk in the garden, or sitting alongside for a favourite television programme. The companion follows the older adult's lead, keeping things calm and comfortable rather than busy or structured.
How are family updates shared, and how often?
Updates are sent in writing — typically a short note after each check-in or visit — to whichever family member the family nominates as the main contact. The frequency matches whatever check-in rhythm the family has chosen. Families can also reach us directly by phone or message during office hours if they have an additional question.
What are the payment arrangements?
Monthly services are billed at the start of each calendar month. The workshop package is invoiced at the time of booking. Payment can be made by bank transfer. If your family has questions about invoicing or would like to discuss a combined arrangement, please get in touch and we will work through the details together.
How is our family's information kept private?
All personal and household details are held securely and only shared with the members of our small team who are directly involved in your family's arrangement. We do not pass information to third parties. Our full privacy approach is described in our Privacy Policy.
